Truths about Satan based on what the Bible says
1. Christ has greater power than the devil.
“What business do we have with each other, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who You are – the Holy One of God!”,
shouted the demons in saint Mark’s Gospel 1:24.
2. Christ gave his disciples power over demons
“The seventy returned with joy, saying, ‘Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.’” (Luke 10:17)
Also, the last command for His followers was:
“These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons…” (Mark 16:17)
3. Demons fear true disciples of Christ
“It happened that as we were going to the place of prayer, a slave-girl having a spirit of divination met us, who was bringing her masters much profit by fortune-telling: Following after Paul and us, she kept crying out, saying, ‘These men are bond-servants of the Most High god, who are proclaiming to you the way of salvation.’” (Acts 16:16-17)
4. Demons recognize true servants of God and do not fear frauds.
“And the evil spirit answered and said to them, ‘I recognize Jesus, and I know about Paul, but who are you?’” (Acts 19:15)
5. Demons know that the time of their work is short
“… Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time.” (Revelation 12:12)
6. Demons know that they will be judged
“Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he threw him into the abyss, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he would not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed.” (Revelation 20: 1-3)
7. Demons know that the only force in the world that can defeat them is the power of Christ’s Blood
“And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.” (Revelation 12:11)
