Our patron – Saint Bartolo Longo
The patron of this website is Bartolo Longo—who in his youth was a spiritualist and a priest of Satan’s temple. After his conversion, he became a Dominican tertiary and the author of many devotions, whom the Church calls the “Apostle of the Rosary.” He is a saint for our times! He was also a great social activist who, at the foot of Mount Vesuvius, built the New Pompeii, established numerous works of mercy, and raised a magnificent sanctuary dedicated to Our Lady of Pompeii.
We have been promoting devotion to St. Bartolo since 2003
Ever since we came to know Bartolo Longo in the Year of the Rosary, we knew he would be the patron of this website. After all, his extraordinary path of conversion—from a priest of Satan to an apostle of the Rosary—is a perfect example that a pact with an evil spirit is worth nothing in God’s eyes. That anyone, even the greatest sinner, can convert and become a saint—just like Bartolo Longo!
This gave rise to extensive initiatives, one fruit of which is also this website.

Hello. Why do you need so many Exorcists in Catholic Poland? I am very surprised that young people who are brought up in a Catholic family should be dabbling with the occult and spirit world. There are 8 Exorcists in the city of Plock in comparrison with three Priests in the whole Archdiocese of Liverpool in England.

Witaj! Odpowiedź ma wiele aspektów, przedstawię je w paru zdaniach.
Przede wszystkim to nie jest tak, że mianowany egzorcysta tylko egzorcyzmuje – ma on tez inne obowiązki duszpasterskie. Bywa tak, że jeden egzorcysta za granicą ma więcej pracy, niż czterech w Polsce.
Druga sprawa to problem psychologizacji: w krajach zachodnich z góry wyklucza się możliwość dręczenia demonicznego, za to w katolickich panuje względna równowaga regulowana przez Rytuał, który wskazuje na rozwiązania lekarskie (choć wielu ludzi ma tendencję do demonizacji, szukania diabła we wszystkim – o tym zaraz). Przez to potrzebujący trafiają do lekarzy i są przymusowo leczeni psychiatrycznie w sposób, w który nie pomaga, a szkodzi zdrowiu.
Dalej: to, że ktoś uważa, że męczy go diabeł, nie musi być prawdą, jednak obowiązkiem kapłana jest rozeznanie. To, ze mamy ponadprzeciętnie więcej egzorcystów mówi nam przede wszystkim, że jest sporo przypadków do rozeznania. Ile w tym opętań? – Procenty.
W Polsce jest też problem pozostałości pogaństwa, przejawiającego się w myśleniu magicznym. Może to dziwne, bo ściśle rzecz biorąc wyznawców pogaństwa jest tu niewielu, ale… zobacz, ile w Polsce działa “gabinetów” bioenergoterapeutycznych, ile czarownic-wróżek, jak popularne są szeptuchy itd. Do dzisiaj zmagamy się ze skutkami zapraszania “uzdrowicieli” do Kościołów we wczesnych latach 90. Do tego dochodzi moda np. na wywoływanie duchów, noszenie magicznych symboli itd.
